PRAYING FOR YOUR WIFE

HER SPIRIT

Lord help her stay focused on You, no matter how great the storm around her, so that she never strays of the path that You have for her.

HER EMOTIONS
Lord heal her brokenheartedness and bind up her wounds. Make her secure in Your love and in mine. Take away all fear, doubt and discouragement and give her clarity, joy and peace.

HER MARRIAGE
Lord show me how to love my wife in an ever-deepening way that she can clearly perceive...protect our marriage...may we never waiver in our commitment and devotion to You and to one another.

HER RELATIONSHIPS
Lord give her good, strong, healthy relationships with Godly women...make my wife a light to her family, friends, coworkers and community.

HER SEXUALITY
Lord teach us to show affection to one another in ways that keep romance and desire alive between us.

HER FEARS
Lord reminder her to bring all her concerns to You in prayer so that Your peace that passes all understanding will permanently reside in her heart.

HER PURPOSE
Lord give her a sense of Your call in her life, and open doors of opportunity for her to develop and use her gifts in that calling.

HER TRUST
Lord make me always worthy of her trust...in any place where we have broken trust with one another help us to reestablish it as strong and may we both trust in you.

HER PROTECTION
Lord keep her safe from any accidents, diseases or evil influences. Protect her in cars on planes or wherever she is. Keep her out of harms way.

HER DESIRES
Lord fulfill her deepest desires... I pray the desires of our hearts be perfectly knitted together. May we not only be caught up in our own dreams but in each others as well.

Christmas Pics

We FINALLY got family pictures taken! These are the first pic's since our wedding.  Yes we suck! But two weeks ago, a friend from church (Barbera White) came over and took some family pic's.  They turned out pretty good. OK they're great! They are all posted on facebook, so you are welcome to check them out there.  But the best part about the whole thing was that we had a GREAT TIME. We were all in our PJ's and we just ate, hung out, and laughed - a lot!  It was sooo cool in fact, that we might have to do it again :)

Praying for your Husband

When I first started praying for Tim, I prayed for the things that I wanted.  God, please make Tim do well at work so we can have lots of money...God, please make Tim blind to the fact that I have gained 30lbs since we have been married...You know the good stuff.  But I got this prayer list from a book and found that when I prayed it for Tim, it really blessed both of us.  So I thought I would forward it on. As a side note, Wives please stop and pray this over your husband as your read it.

1. His work ~ Lord, bless the work of my husband's hands. May his labor bring not only favor, success, and prosperity, but great fulfillment as well.

2. Temptation ~ Lord, strengthen my husband to resist any temptation that comes his way; establish a wall of protection around him. Fill him with your spirit, and flush out all that is not of you.

3. His affection ~ Lord, enable each of us to lay aside self-consciousness or apathy and be effusive in our display of love.  Help us to demonstrate how much we care for and value each other.

4. His Choices ~ Lord, give him wisdom for every decision he makes. Help him to make godly choices and keep him from doing anything foolish.

5. His health ~ Lord, make every part of his body function the way you designed it to; heal him of any disease, illness, injury, infirmity, or weakness.  Strengthen his body.

6. His integrity ~ Lord, make my husband and man of integrity, according to Your standards, and give him the strength to say "yes" when he should say "yes" and the courage to say "no" when he should say "no".

7. His Priorities ~ Lord, speak to him about making Your Word, prayer, and praise a priority. Enable him to place me and our children in greater prominence in his heart than career, friends, and activities.

8. His Attitude ~ Lord, give him a spirit of joy and keep him from growing into a grumpy old man. Help him to be anxious about nothing, but give thanks in all things so he can know the peace that surpasses all understanding.

9. His Faith ~ Lord, enlarge his ability to believe in You, Your Word, Your promises, Your ways, and Your power.  May he seek You, rely totally upon You, and acknowledge You in everything he does.

10. His Future ~ Lord, give him a vision for his future. Help him to understand that Your plans for him are good. Help him to mature and grow in you daily.

This is all from a book entitled Lists to Live By (The Christian Collection).  It is an amazing book.  But you can also find this all in the Bible.

Wives, we are called to encourage, submit to, and to trust our husbands, prayer is one of the most effective tools we have.

Setting up a blog

(Hope) ~ Tim and I had a weekend getaway for his birthday a month ago.  During that getaway we thought it would be great to create a blog that we both contributed to.  Our thinking was if we both had separate blogs that SUCKED, then together we couldn't help but be better.  Well a month later and we have finally set it up.  OK, we still suck!

It took us an hour to choose a template.  It's pretty cool huh?  Well Tim won out because it is a guitarist, the singing flower girl was voted down.  I don't understand why...but these are the compromises that you make in a marriage.

(Tim) ~ You had a say in the template too so enjoy it. You liked the colors as did I on this one.

(Hope) Ugh! Honey, it is much more entertaining when I tell it this way.  If I just said we both liked this template because it's cool and edgy......

(Tim)  Not a good start to this blog honey. We are already arguing and exaggerating the story by the second paragraph.

(Hope) You are arguing, I'm exaggerating. Together, I think it sounds pretty interesting. Plus honey, married couples argue over the silliest things. And now the readers know what to expect when I write....

(Tim) True,

(Hope) So readers when you see a post from me, know that I am doing my best to make it entertaining for you.

(Tim) And I will be here just keeping it real my peeps.

(Hope) See honey, together we are entertaining and honest.

(Tim) so I hear

(Hope) Back to what I was saying earlier (rolling my eyes)... Now we have a blog together.  You need to know that Tim and I are best friends.  We love to hang out together, we love that we get to raise kids together, and more than all of that, we love, to love God together.  We don't have this marriage thing all figured out, but we know if we keep God as our center we will be alright.  So hopefully you will find this blog informative, entertaining, and encouraging.  But if nothing else, we hope that it will bring you and your marriage closer to God.

(Tim) enjoy.
