Sing the the Eternal God! Praise the Eternal now for what He will soon do. For a troubled soul is snatched from the wicked.
Observation
From a human stand point, Jeremiah has no reason to praise The Lord. He has been publicly punished, betrayed by his friends, and ridiculed by so many all because God wants him to share a warning with the Israelites.
Jeremiah pours out his heartbreak and pain to God; he has no one else. Jeremiah wishes he was never born, never chosen by God to be a mouthpiece. Yet he comforts himself with a song of God's promise of vindication for him.
Application
I've always thought to praise God in every circumstance, you had to find the good in that circumstance. But for Jeremiah, there is no good in his circumstance, yet he is still able to praise The Lord, why? Because he knows God's promises are sure, so Jeremiah decides to praise God for what He will do. A great reminder for me, that when I can't see any good in my current situation, to remember that God is working all things for good (Romans 8:28), and I can praise Him.
Prayer
Father, I praise You for Your promises are sure. I praise You for Your unfailing love for me. No one and nothing can snatch me from Your hand. It doesn't matter what my circumstances are, because Your promises are not conditional to my circumstances, they are sure! I turn my heart to praise You, now and always!
