Children's Bible Study

My friend Sally is such an encouragement to me.  She helps her children read, observe, apply, pray, and memorize scripture.  As a mother I believe it is my responsibility to equip my children for the future, and there is nothing more valuable to pass on then the word of God.

I have decided to write my own bible study for my children.  They both have distinct struggles right now based on their age, sex, and social environments.  It is difficult to purchase a bible study that is applicable to what they are going through each day. Besides I'm poor, and so when your poor you have to do it yourself :) With that said, I am going to try writing them and sharing them with all of you.  I am also take some guidance from Sally and what she is doing with her children, no reason to reinvent the wheel.

Devin and Elena memorize one scripture a week.  Beginning this week we will be studying the fruits of the Spirit with Elena and Psalm 1 and 15 with Devin. As a side note, when they are studying a scripture it also helps me to memorize and study that same scripture.  That is why my friend Sally is so smart, and I'm excited to have figured out her secret ;).

I have spent much of my life buying into the world's propaganda that it is all about me.  However, the more I dive into God's word, the more I become aware of the lies that are around us every day.  Jesus prayed in John 17:17 that we would be sanctified with the truth; and His word is truth.  I want desperately for my family to be sanctified in God's truth. I am not a very good teacher, but God's grace is sufficient in my weakness, and through His power my children are drawing closer to God.
