Scripture Memorization

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control against such things there is no law.

Monday

S -Read Matthew 7:15-20

O-

1. What does "fruit" refer to in this passage of scripture?  Is Jesus talking about the fruit you eat or how you act?
2. What is a false prophet?
3. What kind of behavior should you look for when listening to someone's advice?
4. Who are some people in your life right now that show the fruit of the Spirit mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23?

A-

Make a card for one of the people you mentioned in question 4.  Thank them for being such a great teacher in your life.

P -

In your own words thank God for His teaching and ask for His help in knowing who is a false prophet and who is sent from Him.

Tuesday

S - Read Jeremiah 17:7-8

O -

1. What is a blessing?

2. What does it mean to trust God?
3. What blessings do you think you will receive for trusting in the LORD?
4. What makes you scared? 

A-

The next time you are afraid, call on Jesus and ask Him to help you trust Him and not be afraid.

P -

Thank God for His word and how it helps you to bear good spiritual fruit.

Wednesday

S - Read Jeremiah 17:7-8 (Cont'd)

O -

1. What happens to the fruit trees when they don't get enough water?

2. What is spiritual water and where can you get it?

3. Sun is good for the plants, but without water they will not survive.  How are you getting spiritual water everyday?

4. How can you bear spiritual fruit everyday?

A-

Ask your parents if you can water the plants in your house.  Let them show you how much the plants need to be watered.

P -

Ask God to help you to love His word and to help you memorize and live out the fruit of the Spirit.

Thursday

S - Proverbs 11:30

O -

1. Look up the word righteous in the dictionary and write down what it means.

2. Are the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23 righteous actions?
3. What does it mean to win souls?

4. Who are some people you know that have not given their life to Christ?

A -

Write down the names of the people you know that have not given their life to Christ, then write today's date next to their names.  Pray for these people everyday (see prayer below) and then keep your eyes open for what God is doing in their lives.

P -

Ask the God to speak to the hearts of the people you know who do not know Christ.  Also ask God to help you be able to speak to them about Jesus and His goodness.

Friday

S - Revelation 22:2

O -

1. When do you think you will you see the tree of life?
2. What kind of fruit do you think the tree of life has on it?

3. What are the leaves used for?

4. How often did the tree bear fruit?

A -

Think of someone you know who is hurting or sick.  Doing something nice for them this weekend. 

P-

Pray for those who you know are hurting right now.  Ask God to use the leaves of His tree of life to heal them.
